“Repix” hands the photographer a magical brush to do some retouching. Images, which are to be edited in the app, may come from the photo gallery; they can be imported from Facebook or recorded from scratch – the app displays them all.
“Repix” features a variety of effects. They appear in form of labeled spray cans at the bottom of the screen and can be activated with a tap of the finger. Once an effect has been decided on, the user pulls his finger across the displayed photo and the effect takes place. Photos are partially transformed into a cartoon image or a charcoal drawing; even light effects may be applied. Additional effect filters are available via in-app purchase.
The resulting photo may be saved, send out via e-mail or posted right from within the app on Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr.
